You may not know that in addition to being a small business owner, I am also a mom of two wonderful (and somewhat crazy) kids, ages 3 and almost 6.

MyDaughterMySon

I started my Home Staging business in 2004, when my eldest was just a toddler, as a way to be home with him while also doing something I loved. Though having a home-based business does allow for some flexibility with my schedule, as any working mom knows, it is also a tough road to haul. Now that the business is thriving, I often find myself working much longer hours than I did when I worked for someone else. And I struggle with balancing work and family life just like all the other working parents in this country.

But now there's a way for entrepreneurial moms to be recognized for their hard work!

StartupNation, in partnership with Ladies Who Launch, has announced their 2009 Leading Moms in Business competition, and I would love your vote.

Click on the StartUp Nation logo above and it will bring you to my profile page. Below the photo, click "Vote for Me." You can vote every day if you are so inclined, but even just a single vote would be much appreciated!

And if you are a mom-preneur yourself, I encourage you to enter the competition. After all, we deserve it!

Good luck, Annie.  I certainly appreciate how difficult it is to run a small business and have a family.  I absolutely think there should be some recognition - hope you win!

Annie,

You're kids are absolutely adorable!  Your a lucky MOM! Good for you, but to have started your business when your children were still so small, I give you lots of credit!  I have 3 myself, and I know what it is to juggle a business and be a Mom at the same time.  As you know, YOU have my vote!

Michelle, thank you! I think they're pretty cute. They certainly keep us laughing! How old are your kids? The thought of 3 overwhelms me, though my hubby would love to have another one. NOT going to happen! :)

Annie,

The laughter will continue as they grow! They look like they keep you VERY busy! 3 kids were enough for me!  My baby... my son, is 16!  My girls are 18 and 22!  I think you may have met my oldest at IAHSP convention, she also is an ASP!  ;o)

Michelle, I can't believe you could possibly have a 22 yr old! I hope to look as good as you when my kids are in college. :)

Casted a vote.  I hope you win.  Anyone who can be in this business full time and raise 2 beautiful children deserves the award.  Good Luck!
