Welcome to Campbell County, Virginia!

The county seat of Campbell County, Virginia- located in Rustburg, is named after Jeremiah Rust who donated 50 acres of his land to create the village in 1784. Less than 10 miles outside of the city of Lynchburg, Rustburg is still a small town, with a population under 9,000. There is a lot of new construction going on and many of the government buildings have recently been built.

Whether you need a permit, have a court appearance or your children need immunizations, this is where you will come if you're a Campbell County resident. I researched a deed back to 1954 this afternoon and the people in the clerk's office were very helpful and pleasant. County Departments and Offices include:

Sheriff's Office   Social Services        Fire Department

Campbell County Court House Addition to the Court House Under Construction

Hey Rich, thanks for stopping by. We have a nice mix of old and new architecture in Central Virginia with a Jeffersonian influence. Bedford City is another small town with great examples of this as well.

Thanks Joan, there are a lot of new subdivisions in the Rustburg area of Campbell County and it's good to know where the county offices are. Thanks for commenting!

Hi Debbie Once again you are an inspiration.  Is it cold where you are.  I feel like I am living in Alaska here in Massachusetts.

Hi Pat, it's been in the 40's but we're going to get some snow tomorrow. Only 1 to 3" but it'll do a number on schools, I'm sure some will be closed. My brother said they were expecting 9-12" in Salem, NH!
