Riede Real EstateWhat a surprise to have been asked by our Sacramento Association of Realtor MLS system, Metrolist to take part in a seminar about social networks.

Active Rain was obviously one of the major social networks discussed and since I have been a member here on Active Rain since August 2006, I was the likely choice to have been asked to participate on the panel for the seminar. Linkedin, facebook, Trulia and Twitter will also be the focus of this February training seminar in Sacramento at the Sacramento Association of Realtors.

My guess is that due to my Google rank on the Internet for Sacramento Real Estate Voice and being #1 for Sacramento on Active Rain since 2006 as well as being active on Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and Trulia  and others, was why I was asked.

This is a seminar geared for the newer members or members who are unaware of the importance of social networking and how it will impact the future of Real Estate.

Graciously, I had to decline due to a previous engagement that takes precedence. Hard to believe that I am considered to have been on all these social networks the longest here in Sacramento...oh well it was nice to have been asked.

I am not surprised you were asked at all. I bet it would have been a good seminar

Gena:

I'm not in the least surprised that the #1 Google and Active Rain ranked Realtor for Sacramento would be asked to advise other Sacramento agents on intenet and social networking.   I recall all the fun we had when Trulia Voices first got off the ground. It was quite the social network:-)  And your articles here are a must-follow.

I wish we all had more time to spend on the keyboard, but clients take precedence--especially in this market.

Bill, duty calls. I have a relo client coming in that just happens to be a referral from Roberta Murphy. Clients come first!

Roberta, speak of the devil...aren't you in the Carolina's? Can't believe you popped on over to comment. Hope you are having a great time at your son's graduation.

I was just saying to Bill that the referral you sent me will take precedence over this speaking engagement.  I do hope they chose the Sacramento area over the Bay Area.  I will do my very best to show them around.

Thank you so much for thinking of me and selecting me for this very special client of yours.

And yes, I do remember when a group of us here on Active Rain helped Trulia get off the ground.  We were the only ones over there and had a great time.  Now, it seems work calls and duty to write our blogs...as you said so well, "clients take precedence."

Catherine, you will NEVER be "little people." How in the world are you? We must set some time to talk...it's been way too long!

Lynda, you are too kind. I wish it were not the same week as my new client but sometimes we have to make choices in life and my clients do come first, always.

Catherine, I think YOU dear friend was the culprit that invited me to Active Rain. Remember the days when we didn't even know what a blog was? I thought you had lost your mind and wondered what this whole thing was about.  Hard to believe so much time has gone by in such little time...little play on words there.

Thank you Catherine for inviting me to Active Rain back in August 2006...look at us now! :)

Gena, What an honor for you to be asked and it does not surprise me one bit. I'm sure you would have done a great job, but good luck with your relo client.
