We all know  that net income is going to be a challenge for everyone in this business this year.  We can either say this market stinks and we better shelter ourselves; or, we can say this market stinks and we can take advantage of itand increae our market share when the market comes back.

So when is the market coming back?  Who knows!  Moreover, I really don't care, personally.  Yes, if the market continues to go further down, the odds of my net income not improving is decent; but the odds of of my market share increasing is dramatic.

Guys....gals.....We are going to have about half the agents in the market than we had 2 years ago in a year or so.  You don't have to be a brain surgeon to do the math.   Your competition is dropping in half; thus, the odds of increasing your buyer and seller pool will increase substantially.

I know....I know....you are saying Tim these home are going to take a lot longer to sell and it is gong to be tough to survive.  That is so true.  These are going to be time where we have to be so creative on where we are spending money and spending money on what truly works and not in areas because everyone else is.  We will also have to get financial partners to help us during these tough times.

But, when the market does turn around you are now dealing with about 1/2 of the market, and it will take about 2 years during the recovery period before enough agents come back in the market to make a competitive differnce.  So what does this mean?  It means that you will be a dominant force for at least 2 years and your market share will increase so much that you will be a solid force set in the maketplace.

Those who don't just try to survive this market, but actual push their business to grow, will be on top of the world when the market turns around; as long as, they set a careful budgeting plan through the tough time periods.  This is merely a mindset.  You are either gong to quit, pull back, stay flat or move forward.

The choice is yours........

Tim,   I say move forward with full effort, staying in touch with all the sphere, plus working hard to stay in front of the REO and Short Sale business and crushing the expenses.   Couple of years up here too as far as I can tell.
