Help, anyone have the Blackberry Storm?

Help, does anyone have the Blackberry Storm?

I am considering purchasing it. Can you leave your feedback good and bad? How is the keyboard? Do you get used to it? How fast in the Internet? Does anyone use it with their suprakey? How does the text messaging come through, is it in the email section? Do you get videos and pics or do you have to go to Verizon pic place to retrieve? How are the apps? I have read the reviews but want your real advice.

Thank you in advance, your opinions matter!

Thanks,

Johnathan

Jonathan,

There have been a couple of very good posts about the Storm from people who have purchased it right here on AR.

After reading their posts I wanted to buy one. I chose not to because I do not want to leave my carrier for Verizon. I have to good of a contract.

Try the Search function. I believe those posts were written in December.

Herb,

Thanks for your help. I read a few of them and they didn't answer my specific questions. Also they have had more time to play and come out with all the apps and such. Everyone I know is on verizon and so calls are always free (after your outrageous monthly fees). Check your carrier for the new Blackberry. They were releasing the same phone but different names. That way verizon could say "only at verizon".

Hey Johnathan, I actually just bought the older model before the Storm.. I don't like brand new anything or the "latest model." Too many bugs to wash out - almost always.

Greg,

I know what you mean. I usually wait. The price comes down and like you said they get the bugs out. I am starting the reasearch now, if it looks good, then I will go for it with a new contract.

Thanks Greg, how's the model before?

I have heard some negative things about the storm. I bought the blackberry bold because I needed to stay with AT&T and Love it. It also got a much better review.

Carol,

I think verizon has that one too, and as I said, they are doing them under different names under different companies.

I have seen all kinds of mixed reviews so that's why am putting out to you.

Thank you for your opinion!

Johnathan -- I've had the Storm since early December, but I'm not using it for most of the things you mention. It's got a great screen and is easier for me to read without my reading glasses than my old Treo (different things are important to older people!). The Visual Voice Mail feature is very useful. The camera is pretty good - an improvement over my old phone. Keyboard is fine -- I just do it in landscape mode most of the time rather than struggle with the weird things the reviews complain about. The internet is FAST.
