Here are ten tips for safer driving during winter here in Wildwood, Missouri or anywhere experiencing winter weather:
1) Take your time. Plan for delays and drive with caution.
2) Pack emergency supplies in your vehicle: food, water, blanket, shovel, sand, ice melt.
3) Keep your gas tank at least half full because you never know when you are going to be stuck in a jam.
4) Do NOT PASS snow plows. Their job is to clear the road-stay behind them at a safe distance.
5) Remember bridges and over-passes freeze or support ice first. Proceed with caution.
6) Be certain to clean your windows completely. A clear view is needed to maneuver your vehicle during a snow storm or after one.
7) Be certain to clear off your headlights and tail lights.
8) Drive with your lights on.
9) Do not slam on your brakes.
10) Remember to turn into a slide.
And while you are on the road, remember there is only one you and someone will miss you if you are gone.
