Judi sure hope they have good weather. Fiesta Texas parking lot is a great place to have this cook-off and concert. This sure helps promote some great activities in San Antonio for people to attend. Texas folks like anything to do with Cookoff's and BBQ and of course good old Texas music and entertainment. I'm sure Carl will be by to read this blog when he gets home this evening.

Dale, I've never been to a BBQ Cook-off.  I watch them on TV on the Food network -- I think it'll be fun to attend.  Of course, I'm a fan of Mark Chestnutt's music so I'm hoping we'll be able to attend -- especially since it's not far from where we live.

Ceil, I sure hope Saturday's weather is nice too.  The parking lot at Fiesta Texas is a great place to have the cookoff and concert.  Plenty of space for the folks doing the cooking, judging and tasting and still plenty of room for parking.  If we go, we'll go late -- otherwise we'll be too tired to stay for Mark's performance.  :)  I'm keeping my fingers crossed the weather's nice.  :)

Judi I believe I heard the weather is going to be nice. It's hard to find time and the energy to do it all. If you do get to go have a good time. (Ceil)

Carole, we do have lots of fun events here in San Antonio -- there's always something to do.  Sometimes they sneak up on me (timewise) before I can get my posts written and posted.  I'm trying to write them ahead of time this year and post them just before the event is scheduled.

Ceil, I haven't had a chance to check the weather predictions for the weekend -- I hope we have nice weather so people can get to some of this weekend's events.

Marchel, I love livestock shows and the rodeo too!

Carl & Ceil, we didn't make it to the cookoff and concert.  :(  Had too much work to do here at home and suffering really bad from allergies today -- figured it wouldn't be good to be outside breathing in more cedar pollen.

Judi we seem to be over the episode with cedar fever for now. Ceil ordered that product from Ricki; I don't know if she is using it; she hasn't said. Sorry you are still suffering; it awful. I almost felt lik I had the flu. I took the flu shot. Ceil doesn't take any shots of any kind or medication but she says hers was cedar fever.

Frank, it last Saturday.  We drove by later in the evening.  I wanted to go listen to/see Mark Chestnutt.  It was a huge success!!!  Lots of people there, lines of cars waiting to get into the parking lot at 9:00 PM (also going to hear/see Mark Chestnutt).  People were parking at The Rim Shopping Center and walking to Fiesta Texas -- we didn't go in.  Really hated to miss it -- could still see and smell the smoke from all the barbeque contestants' grills.

Hey Judi - We are back on line. Sure have missed you and the gang. It will take us a few days to play catch up. So far only one printer works but GVTC suggested we try cable and so far it is working; at least we can get on the internet. Sure has been difficult trying to conduct business when you don't have the technology you use everyday... but squeaked by.

Looking to see if you or anyone is hosting Blog Along. Catch ya later. Ceil

Carl & Ceil, so glad to have y'all back.  I missed the game tonight.  It's been a difficult day -- full of sadness.  One of my dear friends daughter died and I'm very heartbroken and sad for her tonight.  Sorry, didn't even think about the Spurs game tonight.

Quite a storm we're having right now!!!  Rain, high winds, lightning, thunder and HAIL!!!  I don't think it's hailing here right now -- but we're getting a little rain anyway.  Tell Ceil, the rain is great -- but she must have danced too long -- we weren't counting on the wind and hail!!!   :)

Judi, as you may or not notice, along with Carl and Dale, I have been out of pocket for a few days, for personal reasons, sorry to hear about your loss!  As always, a week from email and Active rain, puts you about a month behind!

Have you had the chance to go to the rodeo?  My, and my family's thoughts and prayers go out to your friends.  I found out the other day; there was a family in Schertz that lost their little girl, due to a stomach ailment and now they are blaming the parents for neglect, subsequently their parents were arrested, their other son is in my son's class.   Strange!!!

Frank, I wasn't here much this past week either -- came in and responded to a few comments is all.  Hope everything's ok with you.

No, haven't had a chance to go to the rodeo -- don't think we'll get there this year.  We really wanted to go last Saturday for one of Alan Jackson's performances but tickets for his shows were sold out quickly.  :(

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my friends.  The visitation and rosary were last night and the funeral was this morning.  She was a beautiful, intelligent 28 year old -- heart attack.  She had had the flu.

What a shame about the little girl in Schertz.  Yes, that is strange that her parents were arrested for neglect.

Well, good night, it's time to get to bed -- Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family!!!   :)

Judy—Gee-willickers I wish I could have be in San Antonio for this event. I love BBQ plus it would've been a great way to meet up with friends I've been missing for a long time.. Well there's always next year. Meanwhile, you've inspired me to hit the kitchen and wrustle up some of my award winning chili. When Bruce and I lived in SA I participated in chili cook-offs at Randolph Air Base and won three years in a row. The fourth year I was black-balled because they said someone else should get a chance...big bummer that one!

Linda, I love BBQ too.  Hmmm, winner of the chili cook-off at Randoph AFB 3 years in a row!!!  Guess you won't be sharing that recipe with us -- but sure would like to taste it.  I love chili too!!!

Carl, sounds like Linda makes a "mean" pot of chili!!!  She may have to treat us to some one of these days.  :)  I like to sprinkle some grated cheese and chopped onions over the top of mine.  Hmmm, chilie smothering a pan of enchiladas sure sounds good too -- I love enchiladas.
