Yesterday I wrote a post regarding SNOW DAY.  It had been raining in my area for a couple of days and the temperature was threatening to drop below freezing.  The kids had a day off from school but it was a joke.  There wasn't much ice and we all got a little bored.

Today is a different story.  It started to sleet around 8pm last night and didn't stop until about 3am this morning.  How do I know?  My electricity went in and out.  It is 21.9 so the precipitation is now a glaze on all the roads.  Now this is what I call a snow day, without the snow.  There is no chance we will leave the house today.

Yesterday was full of baking, playing Wii, watching movies, cooking a nice dinner, etc...  If I had known we would be stuck again I would have stretched out some of that fun.  Now what do we do?

This is a picture of my children and their friends enjoying a much warmer day!

Good morning Mel,

First things first.  Turn loose of the chicken from yesterday!!!! Now seeing that you didn't do the s'mores or go for a ride, which is always FUN on the Ice, I would suggest doing that and then play polar bears and go for a swim!!  tsk-tsk

Mel,

Let me think about this one......my son could entertain himself all day on his computer playing video games (in those gaming rooms) when he wasn't playing football - he was always doing something that was a competition.......

good luck and I hope it warms up there....

Ice days... mmmmm... you could always go sliding around in the yard. Ok, that's lame... I guess without snow to play in, having a day off school and being stuck in the house could suck. Good luck! I'd say more Wii... and eating all the yummy things y'all baked yesterday!! ~A:)

We are used to Cabin Fever in the North East, We get the Wood stove going light some candles and make coco with Marshmallows or Fluff. One of the favorite games we have (and the more the merrier) is Apples to Apples..5 or more make it the most fun. Good Luck Mel, hope all turns out fine. Steve

Hi Melody-How you been? Missed your smiling face. Sounds like you had a good time in Texas with all the gang. Been busy myself, Thank God. Whatever you decide to do today just enjoy the precious time with your kids while they are still home. Have a great day and stay warm. :-)

I may be "old fashion" but I would put the kids to work. About an hour or so and they would find something to do all day. LOL  Worked really well for me before!

It is always so weird that we completely shut down in Texas when we have any ice and snow but then again, we are all probably safer staying home! I will admit that cabin fever sets in after only one day!

Get the ACtive Life Outdoors game for the Wii - - - kids LOVE it and it wears them out like nothing else inside. All racing, jumping, etc. We used it extensively for my 10-year old daughters sleep-over.

Mel, I am often forced out by things I have to do....which is just as well, otherwise I would get cabin fever :)  What a rough winter and you have it even worse then we do.  Hang in there...how many days until Spring?

I like to pull out the old fashioned board games when all else fails.  Have a better day today.  We have a glaze of ice here but they say it will warm up to allow us to get out so only a two hour delay this morning.

Mel~ Maybe you should move to Florida where we don't have snow, sleet and all that cold stuff. Instead, we get hurricanes, which are often during the summer when the kids are out of school anyway! If you head this way, let me know...I know a good REALTOR that could help you out!

Mel - I hope that you were able to stay warm and busy. I bet there was a lot of dreaming about being in the pool on a hot day.

Mel - I'm sure you're dreaming about those warmer times...  We've had unusually low temps in Central Florida too, I'll know we are in trouble if we get snow.
