Hey, Rich. That is way too much snow for this southern boy. What is that under all the snow? Thanks, Jim

Is that a lump of slush/ice that fell off the wheel well?

Rich, Whatever it is, It looks really cold! Are you going to tell us what's under that ice? Or keep us guessin'? LOL

Carson - It was very cold!

Jim - What is under that is lava rock! This is right next to the observatories on Mauna Kea, the big island, Kona, Hawaii! We were at the beach at sea level with 80 degrees Fahrenheit that morning and then 20 degrees Fahrenheit that afternoon!

Robert - It does kind of look like that, but it is dark because it is lava rock under that snow!

Debi - That is Hawaii! They actually have snow skiing on Mauna Kea! It was quite a day of extremes that is for certain.

Hi Rich - I never would have guessed that a lava rock was under the snow!

Rich, I could swear that was Duncan running around in the snow! Lava Rock? Wow, you certainly know how to take the most interesting photo's. Thanks for sharing!

Snow in Hawaii? I'm surprised!

Debbie - unfortunately the other photos of the snow are quite boring.

Carol - On Mauna Kea where their are many intenational observatories, quite nice.

Rich -- at first glance just a lump of snow and ice. But -- knowing it is lava rock, quite an interesting juxtaposition! Very clever!

Great shot. I had no idea what it was but the comments brought back memories of my trip to the Big Island.

Alexsandra - Thanks! It does lend more meaning...you should see my post for today's Wordless Wednesday...taken that same day but at sea level.

We always have "winter" winter, looks like you've been skiing this year in our area?

http://www.relogic.com - Haven't been able to enjoy anything more than the Denver Airport. No skiing this year, unfortunately!
