I wasn't going to post this, but todays weather may have killed the local ice. So it could be that last Sunday was my  only chance for iceboating this year.

Couldn't decide which pic I liked best, so you get 2! My 60mph pretty mahagony toy.

  Robert -  Wow!  That looks cold, but it looks fun!  I think I'd be too chicken, though.   :)

I have never even heard of ice boating.  I would definitely be too scared for that.

Jonathan, it is fast... and the acceleration is hard to describe.. you even pull 'G's"  even in light air conditions we were sailing over 40mph... I have been over 60 in the past

Elaine: So fast it is VERY fun... not for the faint of heart

Debi, it certainly isnt for everyone.

Stacey-Ann: It is a little scary, but that is half the fun... being on the edge of out of control

Steve, that is actually salt water.. it is the Barnegat bay.... Need consistant 20's or lower to get the ice going.

Gwenn, the speed is crazy fast. I remember the first time I saw them and they were passing cars... after trying it once you are either addicted, or scared to death!
