One winter morning in Gananoque, Ontario a couple was listening to the radio while eating breakfast. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through."

Norman's wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they were again eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through."

Norman's wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week they were again having breakfast, when the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park ......"    Then the electric power went off.

Norman's wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snow plows can get through?"

With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who married these special women exhibit, Norman said,

"Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time."

To everyone still digging out from the last storm, be careful when shovelling;  push don't lift!!

The snowplow caption got my attention...was up at 5am plowing out a farm I own and rent out and thought about a blog idea.  Where do you do your best thinking...mowing the lawn, plowing snow if you are in the north, in the bathroom, on vacation...you get the idea.  Thanks for the inspiration!

Jim and Maria -  It is amazing what we get used to and consider 'normal' !!   I hear alot of my neighbours complaining on this gorgeous, crisp, clean, sunny winter's day with a brilliant blue sky . . .  yes we have about 4 feet of snow all around us and my driveway looks like a bobsled run but . . .   it is winter and we're in Canada!!!   That's what we do here -  I LOVE it!!!

But I wouldn't be against visiting Charleston again for a few weeks :0)    Thanks for popping in.

Susan, that cracked me up!  Here in Collingwood, we are snowed under as usual and the cars blocking plows is a real issue.  My hubby got towed off the side of the road in fromt of our house one night and is still whining but... the garage was empty.  Yup, he didn't think of it. I guess the cold is freezing our brains a little by now.
