It's official. As of 5:43pm EST Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is ousted by the Illinois Senate.

That is not a shocker. He also sucessfully angered enough people that the Senate has also banned him from ever again holding any public office in Illinois.

Ooops.

OK. I'm ignorant. I never watch the news, so I don't know what this guy did. Although it's obvious that I should o.O Care to elaborate?

The Gov. has the responsibility to fill US Senate seats vacated in the middle of a term. Obama's seat needed to be filled by someone appointed by the Gov. He "allegedly" tried to "sell" the seat.

Hi Barbara. I am a CNN junkie. It is the most watched channel at our house and my home page online. Not to mention that I grew up in Chicago and still follow politics there. Let's just say that I am not at all surprised here.

Does this mean he'll return your deposit on the Senate seat? How much sdid you offer any way? What about that 1930's track house on the South West side of Chicago will you still close on it? How soon are you going to reregister as an Ohio voter?

Sorry Bill. You couldn't pay ME to be on something simple like the HOA. No way in hell I would want to be a senator. AND, its not a track house, its a crackhouse. AND, here its on the near northeast side. AND, never. It took me years to register as 17 different guys in Cook County. Why blow that? I am actually grooming someone to take over my con. It's the way it's done, man.

Blago contributed drama worthy of a Shakespearean Farce. I enjoyed the entire show.

Blago exemplified what is wrong with our entire political system from the lowly local mayor who appoints his unqualified uncle to the office of local Sheriff to the President of the United States who appoints his cronies to powerful posts in the departments of government or the cabinet.

Most government appointees are the products of favoritism, nepotism or payoffs for contributions or favors.

The system has fallen and it can't get up.
