Is everyone else out there as sick of hearing about this stuff as I am? The part that disgusts me the most is that we keep "hearing" that something needs to be done and we're all "hearing" the Federal Government is taking action and that bailout money is being disbursed, but none of us are actually "seeing" any positive effects.
Just this morning I read an article about how the Federal Reserve announced a plan to renegotiate mortgages nearing foreclosure. I've also heard about a plan called "Hope For Homeowners" that allows homeowners whom are behind on their mortgages to renegotiate their loans with banks in order to save the home from foreclosure.
Trouble is...the banks aren't willing to work with homeowners. It's absolutely disgusting! Where is the rescue plan money going? Wait, I know...to buy other banks, to remodel offices and give bonuses and to buy $50-million jets for Corporate Executives. UGH!!
I have some clients who've been in their home for about 10 years and have always paid their mortgage. They've recently run into some medical issues and have fallen behind 3 months on their payments. The last thing they want to do is lose their home...but where is the rescue plan assistance? They've made call upon call to Wells Fargo (their mortage holder) and have met resistant like running into a brick wall each and every time.
Then, everytime we turn on the news we hear about job losses. But in the same breath we hear the newscaster talking about efforts the Federal Government is making toward getting people out to spend money. Well, duh!! If someone doesn't have a job, or is living in fear of losing his job, wouldn't it stand to reason that spending money is not exactly going to be on top of the priority list?
Can someone please talk some sense into our politicians? Or, I guess the real problem here is that they are so out of touch with reality and what it's like to live a normal life (not spoon-fed by the government and taxpayers) that they just don't get it.
CREATE JOBS AND THEY WILL START SPENDING!!!
