Need is the reason for Marketing and Marketing Research. The need for marketing started small because the world seemed small at first.  As human’s ability to explore and their curiosity started to fuel that exploration, the world (both physical and of opportunity) began to expand.  With this expansion marketing research became increasingly more important to find meaning and information in the growth around us.  However, the more that people find with the results from marketing research, the better they want to be and so expansion and advancement takes place again.  The point is that human desire is the fuel for advancement, such as technology, and technology makes opportunity grow globally, in turn increasing the need for research.  In the Era we are in now (Globalization online), marketing research is more important then ever before, because different parts of the world act differently and have different needs and wants.  Marketing Research solves this problem by finding out what people want and need.  The next era of marketing research will be even bigger than the last.  The difference is that technology is ever expanding and so the use of this technology and the globalization of the world will help to make marketing research more efficient and useful.  Marketing research will always be needed as long as there is human curiosity.
