Fairfax Station is an area in Fairfax County, Virginia made up of a number of neighborhoods including South Run, Barrington and Crosspointe to name a few.   It is an area of tree lined streets, expensive homes on large lots, rolling hills,  parks, and dense forests. Cachet Magazine has ranked Fairfax Station in the top ten for "Best Quality of Life." CNNmoney.com recently recognized Fairfax Station as one of the "Best Places to Retire."

The community is home to more than 19,000 residents who enjoy an upscale living environment in proximity to major shopping, historic churches, museums and  local parks,  The residents of Fairfax Station take advantage of these opportunities as well as those that present themselves simply because of the proximity to Washington D.C.   Fairfax Station has some of the highest home values in all of Fairfax County right behind the McLean/Great Falls area.   Most residents live in $750,000 or higher priced homes and commute either to the Dulles Tech Corridor or the Federal Government in Washington DC.  The education system in Fairfax County is among the top public school counties in the country and the new South County High School just opened in 2005.  It current has an enrollment of slightly over 3000 students in grades 7-12.

The majority of residents carry a degree of some sort. Others have a diverse range of professions including a plethora of lawyers and doctors.  The average household income is reportedly over $210,000 making it one of the highest in the DC area.
