Hey Folks!

As we end the first month of 2009 I am looking back on all of the things I have set out and happy with most. Now I am down to Twitter.

While I have had the account for a while I have done nothing with it. After a month of me following them (almost 1,000) and them following me (about 600). What do I do with it?

I post several interesting tweets throughtout the day (most with my iphone app), answer dm's and provide help when I can I need some pointers what to look for and how to help my business with it.

Please post on.

Thanks

Tony

Its just a way to contact people so just use it like that. I dont see it going beyond that. It gained popularity because of its ease of use and sms functions especially adapting well with Iphones. I dont know that it does anything much that other social networking cant do other than being concise.

I have not signed up on Twitter yet, but I am thinking about it.  There seems to be so many networks to sign up on.

I am having been set up my twitter today.  The way I understand it.  It's suppose to feed into other networks saving time.  I read somewhere on AR that you can place your blog on twitter and it feeds into all the network site you sellect.  I will figuar this out.

You can automatically feed your active rain posts to twitter, by going to your settings.

The real reason to use twitter is the amount of seo juice you get from it.  Twitter ranks high and is constanly changing.  It also gives you the possibilities of getting your info on potentially thousands of other peoples pages.  Don't discount it as another social netwroking sites.  Its a great way to get your new website pages indexed quickly.

I just did a post today on be a beginner.  Unfortunately, I won't be any help but I'm going to keep an eye on your comments to see what I can learn.  I guess it is something most of us will jump into for 2009.

Tony.... I can't answer your question from personal experience either, because I'm still learning what good Twitter is.  But there are a lot of people here in the rain who swear by it, and say that the best thing is just to jump in and participate so that people know you.  Then, suddenly one day, you'll get an @ message that says, "Hey guy... I'm looking for great rates in Indy... can you help?"  Hasn't happened to me yet, but we'll see.

Tony, sounds like you are getting a lot more out of twitter than I am already.  I signed up for it, but that's about it.  I don't even update what I am doing, as I don't want to just post boring stuff.
