The groups Localism Beta and Localism Brainstorming are dedicated to information on how to use Localism.com and for suggestions on how to improve the Localism site.

Members can post their blogs about local areas and local activites. Learn about other areas in the United States and Canada and about the local activities and issues in these cities and towns. This site is not about how to use or improve Localism.com. If you have suggestions on how to use localism.com or improve it post to Localism Brainstorming or Localism Beta.

If you have informational blogs about local areas in the United States or Canada you are welcome to post them here. THIS IS THE PLACE TO POST ARTICLES OF LOCAL INTEREST - THEY ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Mike,

Would we post here(this new group) in addition to the town ,region or State we normally put Localism posts on?

I'm always looking for help with my Localism sites. There was another group that was supposed to do that but people started posting everything there although I think it is being cleaned up.

Your post about me and Spring TX looked great! I'm planning on getting mine out on Sunday. I guess it is probably good if we stagger them.

Amazing that there wasn't a group like this in the first place. Although I suspect it will mushroom quickly! Localism Beta was for ideas when it first started. Localism Brainstorming is for new ideas.

Thank you, Mike. I'm fairly new to AR and found Localism one of the most challenging areas to figure out. Also the most intimidating. With sweaty palms I hit the "Public" button the other day for the first time. It didn't look too bad, though, so I put a button on my website and linked to the blog, so guess I am officially "out there." After nearly 12 years in real estate I've found developing new skills is not just fun but critical, so maintaining the integrity of Localism posts, making them easy to find, and getting feedback is one way we can all improve.

You are right. It is easy for you to participate and like me, I think you will find almost all the members friendly and willing to help.

AR is great, forget the sweaty palms, and do it. It is all about participation. I hope you have a great experience.

Good idea Mike - I'm there.

Localism has been where I've been posting most of my content thus far as it's what I know most about i.e. my town and local towns. I'll be breaking outside of the box shortly but until then I'm sure you'll hear a bit from me there =)

I will plan on joining your group. Haven't been on Activerain very long and trying to find my way around. I want to be able to give appropriate information that may help others, but also request information from time to time. I am an inspector and hope I will be welcome.

Just discovered this group and sounds very interesting. I'm a newbie so I'm trying to be sure I don't break any rules in this group. I plan to join.

Mike: Sorry to bother you but I just joined the group and went back to two of my blogs so that I could post thlem here. I selected this group to post to but my blogs are not here. What am I doing wrong? Can you help me? Thankyou

Mike is no longer with us. He passed away the end of May.

You can still post to the group, though. I'm not sure what may have happened, but if its a Local post, it should still be in there.

Karen, That is so sad about Mike . Thanks for letting us know. I just joined as well and hopefully can help keep this group going in honor of Mike.

Thank you Diane. Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We really need to live each day to its fullest as life can be taken away quickly.

This is dedicated to Mike Stankewich.

From what I understand and it appears that our new found friend, Mike Stankewich, died unexpectedly. Even though we didn't know him long he was part of our family and partner here at Active Rain. Mike was a contributer and inspiration to his Active Rain partners.

I don't know much about his personal life but what he gave to AR tells me he was a professional and giving person. I salute Mike for his contributions to AR. Wish I could have gotten to know you better Mike.

Saw Mike had a featured post - I really miss him - he was so helpful when I started on AR. I'm trying to fill at least the heel of one of his shoes. That is what he would want from all of us.
