Travel Day

January 30 & 31

I knew this was going to be a good day when I made it through security twice on the same day with out being setting off any alarms, sent to stand in the little corner, or having my belongings ripped apart. The security at both airports where very courteous but the staff at China Air was the best.

Off into the wild blue yonder we go right on time at 12:15am and I have an aisle seat, no seats in front and no one occupying the seat beside me. The guy two seats over tells me that his friends told him China Airlines food and service was crap but in my best law of attraction attitude I tell him I’m only expecting the best.

Never having taken a fourteen hour flight before I was curious to how I was going to adjust. I set my time to Taiwan time and planned to sleep at a time that would coincide with my family in Taipei.

I was very happy with the two little meals that where served. They were the most enjoyable that I have had on a plane. Small meals yes but who wants a huge meal when you are going to set on your duff for the next fourteen hours.

The stewardesses where excellent. If this was the 1970’s I’d make a comment about their beauty but we know beauty is not a criteria for a job in this century.

The movies were a curious choice. One about nerds and gorgeous girls in an American high school and one about Norse warriors battling aliens in space.

After twelve hours in the air and what was approaching a thirty hour day I’m beginning to look less enthusiastic than when the adventure began.
