My Excuse for a Holiday...

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Windermere Peninsula Properties

Okay- so 6 more weeks of winter may not be something to celebrate, but GroundHog Day has been a party day for my family since the beginning.

Christmas is over, Valentines Day is for Mom and Dad, but  Groundhog's Day is for everyone. We watch the movie with Bill Murray every year. There is actually a lot you can learn from it. However, we choose to laugh, eat junk food, and spend time together just enjoying the simple things in life.

What excuse do you have for a party? If you don't have one you can always have GroundHogs Day!

It's my baby brother's birthday today.  And he did not see his shadow and so I'm going to have an early spring here at Lake Sinclair.  Now there's a reason for a party.

That movie is such a hilarious tradition.  I bet every video store in North America has no copies left on the shelfs a few days in advance of the holiday, lol.

Robert- We had to get our own copy. I forbid anyone to watch it until Groundhog Day. It would be like opening up your Christmas Presents early.-Dinah Lee

Carol- I prefer denial. I look at every sunny day as being that much closer. If you turn the heat way up you can even pretend it is summer!LOL-Dinah Lee

spring is the best time of the year, only 6 weeks is not so bad, however, we never really have winter, so I have not right to speak

Great Post!  Every day should be a celebration if we would only look for the bright things, right?  And most often, the best is found in the little daily things that make up the bulk of life.  This is a very special message for sure - good post.

Boo. We here in Chicago are very chilly and I was really hoping for an early spring. Oh well. Guess I'll have to just bundle up and watch the Bill Murray movie!
