What is a drunk monkey you ask??  The drunk monkey is your "inner voice".  The voice that will do and say whatever it takes to keep you safe.  It will keep you from taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone. The drunk monkey is a dream stealer.

How to squelch the monkey:

Create your own definition of success, and do not accept someone else's.

Success comes in all shapes & sizes.  Success does not have to be measured in a monetary manner.

Remember that the more challenging your definition of success is to attain, the more your drunk monkey will interfere to keep you out of harms way.

We all have limiting beliefs on what we are and are not capable of, how successful we can or should be.  Just remember, the next time you doubt yourself or change your path, ask yourself why?

Is it really what you want to do, is it in your best interest... or is it your drunk monkey trying to keep you safe?

If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all. - Anna Quindlen

Laser Beam Focus. Those words are my mantra on hot sunny days like today when I know that everyone else is having a BBQ and I am inside working on this, that or the other thing. You just have to sacrafice and don't get distracted by shiny things. If you do that guaranteed!

I have the goofiest looking Monkey hanging in my office.  On my "white board" it says... "DRUNK MONKEY REHAB STARTS NOW".  Just a friendly little reminder to keep that little creature under wraps!

Have a great day everyone!

Tamara... What is the green frog about??  I have a saying that I don't know where I got it, but your frog comment reminded me of it....

"If you have a frog to eat, eat it first thing in the morning".
