Sometimes we see things as inspectors that cause us to just shake our heads. It's most often a case of some sort of Bob Villa worship, and a desire to buy new tools and put them to use.

It's just too bad that a lot of these weekend warriors don't understand WHY something is done they way it is, and instead use the "That's good enough" approach.

Here's a little tid-bit from a recent inspection.

I don't see any problem.  Looks good to me!  (That's why I'm not an inspector)

A beautiful job and professionally done too.  Of course, this passed muster, right?

I have seen this before, except under a hundred y/o house with a dirt mound crawlspace...it was actually a good buy though and I took a neighbor in to check it out. Turns out that the guy who ended up buying it put up a crazy ugly fence onthe property line next to the existing fence and then caused several neighborhood disturbances...sometimes is worth the money to avoid the trouble...

What, no one has ever played Jenga in the crawlspace? I wonder who's turn it is, the contractor or the homeowner.   LOL.
