For those following me, you know I'm a marketer first who used to be a realtor(r) and so my main focus is real estate marketing.
If this is your first post of mine you're reading, be sure to check the others - my job is helping agents, lenders, etc. make more money through marketing products and services.
Lately, I've been helping www.CreditCRM.com with their internet marketing, doing SEO and video and graphics production to help them drive sales.
In it, I found a killer way to produce homebuyer clients: the free credit repair seminar.
One of my rules of marketing is "Market to the Unaware", i.e. people who don't yet know they want your service. If you market a homebuyer's seminar, you will only get people who know they want to buy a home.
But in truth, everyone wants a home.
It's the american dream, right? So who shows up to homebuyer seminars?
- Not nearly as many people as actually want to buy a home
- Lots of people who intend to use their dog's former owner's cousin's roomate's postman who also practices real estate on the side.
- People who are already in contract on a home and hoping to actually learn something about home ownership, which, frankly, they rarely learn much because it's all title reps talking about why you need title insurance.
- and 2% actual good clients / leads.
Solution: Fish Upstream.
Everyone who wants to fix their credit wants it fixed for one reason: to use it to buy a home and/or car.
Use our (www.Movoxo.com's) "How Credit Works" video for this too... heck, frankly, you don't even need to subscribe to our service to use it, so it's essentially a great free resource for you. Hope it helps.
Also, for anyone serious about this strategy - why not make credit repair a profit center? CreditCRM provides a credit repair business opportunity i.e. complete franchise-style business you can purchase.

Good Idea! We have had a few 1st time homebuying seminars and most came for the free lunch.
