Here's one for you.

You schedule a showing for your buyers.  You show up at the home and it appears that no one is home.  Great!

You unlock the door and everyone walks in.  You all notice a faint, unfamiliar odor in the air, but no one really mentions it.

Your style is just to let the buyers roam around the home at their leisure, but you don't follow them - they know the difference between a kitchen and a master bath.

All of a sudden you hear one of them scream upstairs.  And it's not just a surprised scream, but one of utter horror.

You run up there to see what caused such a blood curdling sound, and, well, read the whole story here:

Now that's what I call a nightmare showing!

Oh my gosh! That's crazy. I can't imagine.  An agent in my office was showing foreclosures one evening.  They usually don't have electricity so she had a flashlight.  They noticed a spot on the floor and were wondering how in the world you could get that big of a stain. Put the flashlight on it and it was a dead squirrel!  But the whole woman thing tops that!

I don't know what I would do!!.........."so, should we fill out a purchase and sale agreement here, or at the office?"

Wow that would be a difficult thing to deal with.  How would you calm down the buyers after that one!!!

OMG!!!! I don't know what I would have done. Can you imagine??? I wonder if the clients went to another agent or even bought a home at all after that...

What a scary thought.  Talk about a showing gone bad.

This is so sad.  I thing I would have screamed louder than my client!!!!

That is so tragic for everyone involved. It is sad to see people die alone and then to not have anyone find them for days. That has to be tough for both you and the clients as well.

I read about this.  Disturbing!  I would HATE to expose my clients (and of course myself) to such a situation.....

That is horrible! (for everyone involved!)  I wonder how they got a showing confirmation?

Yikes - what a horrible thing to come upon, and at a showing!!  How sad to know someone passed away and no one noticed for 2 weeks - sad....

Stephanie -- I think a dead squirrel would freak me out, too.

Ed -- I don't think that agent could have given that house away after that.

Abe -- You got that right!

Jon -- I have no idea how you calm down the buyers, much less myself, after something like that.

Laura -- I really hope that the buyers stay with that agent.  They now have "history" together.

Patricia -- I agree!

Loretta -- I really don't know how it could have been any worse that that.

Mana -- I know I would have screamed pretty loud.  And it is really sad.

Jennifer -- It truly is sad that the lady passed away without anyone really noticing.

Kaushik -- I would also hate to have this happen to me.  I just can't imagine.

Jeannie -- I really don't know how they got confirmation to show the home.  Maybe the listing agent just thought no one was home.

Ann -- I think the worst part is that the poor woman died all by herself, and no one knew about it until this showing.  I mean, I wouldn't want to be the agent or buyers either, but the deceased is the real victim, IMHO.

Wow... that is scary!! I can't imagine walking into a sitiation like that. Yesterday I was showing a condo that I thought was vacant but knocked anyway. Upon opening the door I was confronted by this person staring at me holding a dog! I guess she forgot to inform her agent that she was spending the night in her VACANT CONDO.

I agree with Jennifer, how sad.  It never fails to amaze me what kind of situations Realtors come across...
