What do you think about the media coverage of the market?

What do you think about the media coverage of the market?

We need to be reminded me of the old saying; only believe half of what you see and none of what you read!

When was the last time you picked up the paper and read something positive about the real estate market; the outstanding opportunities to buy?  With many homes to choose from, lower prices and interest rates so low, now is a great time to buy.

In many cases a tenant could own their unit for less than their rent!  There are, of course, tax benefits and incentives for first time buyers.   Move-Up buyers benefit during a downward or flat market.   And let's not forget, this is an awesome time for investors too!

With there being an abundance of bank owned properties on the market, buyers can purchase a home for several thousand dollars less than they could have even one year ago.

The buyers of today have selection and price as their advantage. The media seems to forget this.

Consumer confidence is one of the keys to turning around the real estate economy.  We, the real estate community, have the responsibility to spread the word!

Hi Randy - Welcome to Active Rain! The media loves to talk about the negative because dirty laundry always sells best. As Realtors we do need to educate the public about the benefits to owning a home.
