Call me old fashioned, but it's all about relationships. The internet has revolutionized how we do our business, and even how some people come in touch withus. But it's still about relationships.
In fact that's all we're really doing on the internet. We're building relationships. Some do it much more effectively than others. What do you think blogging is? It's building relationships. It maybe a monologue you do where they value your information. They might say that guy knows his (or her) stuff. Or they might say, he knows that neighborhood. Or instead of your information, they may like your schtick. They might say, "ha ha, that's somebody I could be friends with." Or that guy sounds like my dad (the average buyer is getting younger, and the average real estate agent is what....51?).
I know it's all just my opinion. But think about it. Our business is relationships. Strong ones where you've met face to face. Or weak ones where they reply off of a craigslist post and want you to run to a property to show them. Or ones that are more substantial for the internet, where they've been reading your blog for 5 months. That's what it's about - making a connection - a relationship.
So, since you'll never know if it's the one liners or the neighborhood facts they like, give 'em both!
Build that relationship.
