Many AR members have sent me emails this past couple of weeks thanking me for helping them with their profiles to be more Google friendly and "Information packed". I have loved helping many of you and love the conversations.
You have heard many times that when we as Realtors work on our business and we develop a fine tuned machine we have a "Business within a business". Many real estate trainers and coaches assist us in working on our business and developing systems that make our business grow and prosper. Many new Realtors get this idea soon and some take months or years to develop a real estate business.
After I spoke with Chris Elizabeth Griffith and Karen George and reread their posts it finally dawned on me that Active Rain and Localism are a business. What Karen and Chris are doing is using AR and Localism as a business tool. When I first joined Active Rain I looked at it as a fun way to connect with fellow Realtors, Stagers, photographers, etc. and use ideas to help me. It was also a "Fun" what to interact with others that have the same interest.
While AR and Localism are all of the above, my world all changed when I started looking at Active Rain & Localism as a business. Think about it. AR profiles and Localism posts are ranking high with the Google search engines. This means Google thinks there is great value in what AR & Localism has to offer the public. For many of us our AR profiles and Localism posts are the first time the public will be introduced to us. Whether or not we like it Google has made AR and Localism a powerful consumer oriented tool.
Karen convinced me I had to rename my profile blogs, headers and links to get ranked high with Google. Chris Elizabeth convinced me to write a powerful consumer oriented AR profile and localism posts.
Any business focuses on creating a consumer image. The business also focuses on making sure all of the departments are on the same playing field and working together for the good of the business.
For many this light is now going on and I am receiving numerous requests for assistance. For those of you that have listened, congratulations. For everyone else I leave you with these thoughts:
- Is your AR profile cute, funny, or all about you, or is it about information?
- Are your post titles what would attract Google or are they for fun?
- Do you have many links when you write Localism posts? Google loves this
- When you write a post there is a good chance the public will read it
- Do your posts say what you would want the public to read?
- If you were a consumer would you be attracted your AR profile and posts?
