Business openings include a new full-service Hyundai dealership is moving in on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer, South Carolina, adding another car lot to the popular auto sales area.  Suzuki also recently announced a new dealership nearby and indicates the strength of lower-priced vehicles in today's current economy.

Expansions in Greenville include our own Liquid Highway, a local coffee shop with six locations in the Upstate, is building a flagship type store on N. Pleasantburg Drive near Cherrydale Mall.  The growing area with heavy traffic use seemed the ideal place to put their freestanding, drive through coffee shop with an adjacent eclectic retail store. The retail store will be in a 10,000 square foot building that will house other tenants and will be located across from The Home Depot and back towards Cherrydale Mall.  Liquid Highway has a unique mission: they donate all of their after tax profits to support the needy and disadvantaged around the world.  Their Touch the Ground Foundation donates to medical facilities, missionaries, schools orphanages and the feeding of starving families in 27 countries.

Greenville Businesses are thinking ahead by showcasing Greenville which is vying to host a karate organization's national championship in 2010.  Greenville City Council voted to pledge $20,000 in hotel tax revenue to help bring in the event, which is expected to host about 7,500 visitors.  The USA National Karate-Do Federation is looking for an entertaining and inexpensive location for the event and is also looking at Tacoma, WA and Stockton, CA.  The Bi-Lo Center would be the venue if Greenville, SC gets the pick.
