Aren't we all striving for points here? I think so! Blogging is the "new" thing and I just found the link here where I can check to see my status. Apparently my blogs are getting LOTS of views, but minimal comments. I ALWAYS comment on a blog I view -- I feel it's just courtesy and most of the time I appreciate the time taken to enlighten me on the bloggers point of view! I'll at least acknowledge that in a comment (and earn a few points along the way)! If I had half the comments of views I'd be in the running in my area! Please -- read posts, comment, then post your own blogs! I'll view them and comment -- especially at night which is when I normally read and blog. Love it - even though my husband thinks it's a waste of time. Could be watching TV I guess, but I'd really rather be reading and commenting. SO, please do me a favor -- comment on peoples' posts!!! Thanks!
Thanks for posting, I think most of us comment if we feel it is of value, either the blog or our addition to it. Try posting some "leading" blogs that have more than one side so as to get some alternate opinions...
Lisa, we all start out feeling that way. I blogged and blogged and commented and commented and I would look and not many had anything to say about it. The best way for you to gain readership is to be a dedicated commenter on certain peoples posts. They will recriprocate and you will gain friends!
I hope you end up with tons of comments. You certainly will soon. Your writing is good. That's what it takes!
Thank you,
Deb
Good evening Lisa,
Sometimes people have nothing to add to the conversation, so they view and move on. My guess is that the ratio is somewhere around ten to twenty views will bring you one comment. If you're posting listings, then throw that ratio out the window. You could get 500 views and zero comments.
P.S. Please have your husband read these two links. They will change his mind!

Hi Lisa and welcome to Active Rain! You're off to a good start posting, good luck to you!
Hey Lisa,
Glad to comment. In fact, I posted a comment about blogging now on the "new" active rain format. Seems nobody's reading or commenting. Not particularly happy with the changes, but perhaps I'll adjust---when I see the advantage.
Yes, you want some comments. Don't want the public seeing your blog with no comments, doesn't look as valuable.
