Selling Your Home- Get Great Real Estate Photography- Part 1

By
Real Estate Agent with Better Homes & Gardens Preferred Properties

At this point, is there anyone that DOESN'T know the importance of professional photography when selling real estate in 2009? Apparantly, at least in our market, there are many people!

As a result, we have begun creating professional videos to explain to our clients what they need to look for to make their home stand apart...this series of videos starts with photography, the gate keeper on the internet....the first impression that helps a buyer determine a level of interest to move forward or move on.

Part I in our series deals with photography. Take a look at our new video. I don't know how to post to my video properly to this blog, so please don't hold it against me. I believe you will find it professional and helpful.

Recently we calculated statistics of our market to determine the percentage of agents posting at least 25 photos to their listings, equal to an enhanced listing on realtor.com. We were shocked at our findings. So, stay tuned for Part II that will address these findings.

I agree that agents largely underutilize the resource of photos - videotours etc.   It's  been proven time and again that good photos sell homes!  Great post.

Andrew, in our market, we do not have the restrictions of photo limits in the MLS. We can post up to 99 photos, though more than 3/4 of the agents post under 25 photos.

I use 25 photos posted to listings as a base to start with as that is the limit on the Realtor.com enhanced listings is 25 photos.

Great topic and video!  I am amazed that more home owners, and unfortunately agents, don't know the difference between photos and "good" photos, this definitely will help!  Quality over quantity is also important.   I know times are difficult that's why I offer packages based on square footage or number of photos.
