Here is a short one and half minute YouTube video that will get you started with StepRep.
Although it is still in beta, I went and tried it out and you can see the new widget on my side bar. It searches the web for all the places you are mentioned and you have the opportunity to rate the information as Good, Bad, Irrelevant. If you rate it good, you can add it to your widget which it creates as you go through all the places you are mentioned.
Although I still love Google Alerts for instant results when I am mentioned in a post or online, I think this app is cool. You will notice I came up for Localism,Activerain and my outside blog. Also Joe Manausa's post on The Carnaval of Market Reports that he puts together each month for agents that want to participate.
I did find a post by Jay Ehert of the Marketing Spot blog where he had mentioned one of my posts here back in July. In light of all the social media sites we are joining it is important that we monitor our online presence.
Missy-Thank you for some awesome information. I learn something new on AR everyday and certainly appreciate your insightful and helpful posts! Best to you in 2009!
Thanks for mention Missy! We're working hard over here at MyFrontSteps and the early feedback on StepRep has been very positive. We're finding that a lot of alerts are coming our before the Google Alert is. Some things that you might not know yet: We save the results that we send so you won't get the same link twice. We also monitor social media spaces so you'll get results from places like twitter. We love feedback and we're working hard at the first round of improvements.
Missy
The link to steprep didn't go through; is it a different one? Great ideas and thoughts. I enjoyed some of the other links, and they really did open my eyes in a lot of ways.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz
Missy - I'm confused. The widget - is it the "Top Stories" widget (right above the text message widget)? If so, it needs some size modification as its bigger than the sidebar. I remember the AG talk about StepRep sometime ago. Keep bringing the new toys to us!
Thanks for the info Missy. I just tried to sign on and got a dreaded server error, perhaps the ACTIVE Rain bunch has clogged the StepRep server? I'll keep trying.
Missy you are so far ahead of the curve! It's a full time job just trying to keep up with you. (and Gassett) How nice of Jeff from MyFrontSteps to leave a comment. Will check it out - sounds like it has some really nice features.
Missy, I signed up and immediately there was all this information there! Amazing! I also have Google Alerts but this is faster to access. Thanks for letting us know about it!
I'm hooked on Google Alerts, but this one sounds even more in depth. Missy, once again, thank you for sharing your *finds* with us. I do appreciate it.
Missy, I'll have to check this out! I use Google alerts, and lately they have been including other blogs that mention me. But it takes a while for them to show up.
Missy.. this is great... how do you find the time to find this stuff? Thanks for sharing this... just something else I need to keep up with. I still haven't even ventured out with friendfeed.. lol thanks
Bookmarked for later (hubby is watching a movie right now). Thanks for assisting me with how to deal with internet leads. Calling on the phone (if they give a valid number) has proven highly successful.
Hi Missy - Thanks for the post. There's a sort of social aspect to StepRep as well. You can add people to your trusted list which gives them more points and ranks them higher on the list in their region. I have added you to my trusted list!

Hey Missy!
Thanks for the post and information on StepRep. As an active social media user, I now want to make sure my "rep" is as positive as can be online. :-)
Take care and as always, I enjoy reading your posts.
