There are so many success stories and testimonials that come from members of ActiveRain, it's awesome to read some of what happens to people from being on this network.  Not just business stories, or lead generation, I'm talking about real life changing experiences.  Real people and real lives being affected and even changed by their contributions and efforts here on AR.

Two of my personal greatest success stories (and I have many) are 1.) the fact that this community and members helped me through a very tough time in my life transitioning from one industry, to being a full time employee here on ActiveRain, and 2.) my brother finding me on ActiveRain after 40 years of being separated.  I was only five years old the last time I saw him.

These stories and testimonials from our members are so powerful, touching, and life changing, that we are now going to be featuring them in the "ActiveRain Success Stories" link located on the main ActiveRain page.  Do you have a success story to share?  Whether it's personal, business related, or just about an ActiveRain success, WE WANT TO SHARE YOUR TESTIMONIALS and SUCCESS STORIES TOO!  How has ActiveRain or the members here affected you, your family, your business, your community, or your life?

Here's How You Can Share Your ActiveRain Testimonial

Go to your ActiveRain Profile and click on the "edit" option.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see the "NEW" area we've added just for you and your story.  What you enter here will not appear on your profile, it will ONLY appear on the landing page with all of the other AR Success Stories HERE!

You can also access this landing page from the main ActiveRain HOME page.

Please keep these few items in mind when adding your ActiveRain Success Story or Testimonial:

  • You'll receive 500 points for creating and contributing a testimonial or success story.
  • The success story is about success achieved because of, or on ActiveRain - not just life successes.
  • Having your Success Story on this landing page will be significant for your SEO results.
  • Please DO NOT use this area for self-promotion or advertising, if so, it will be removed.
  • Your testimonial must be at least 20 words or more to qualify for the 500 Bonus points.

See what others have added as their success story or testimonial.  ActiveRain Success Stories.

Brad, if we have spent anytime here there are success stories and this sounds like a great place to hear about it.  Wonder how many romances or friendships or just general referrals to others across this country because we feel "like we know" someone else.

Your story is a special one.  I look forward to reading more.

Hey Brad,

You know I don't have to tell you that I've gotten business from here before. I probably would say I average at least one sort of correspondence on a weekly basis through AR. Maybe not all of them pan out but it's better than nothing and I'm grateful. I also know about the story about the long lost brother which was a fantastic ending.

Brad and Brian - it's great to chronicle the connections. I'd actually say that Connections might be a better descriptor than Success Stories. Finding a brother is certainly a Connection. So are the many relationships we've made that haven't yet resulted in referrals.

Thats awesome that your brother found you.  I think that should be the #1 instead of #2.  I had the same experience with Facebook. My sister that I have not seen or heard from in 24 years found me there.  I was 12 and she was 3 at the time.  Congrats on the success.

I figured I better practice what I preach, so I finally just added my AR testimonial to my profile page.  Now I'm off to read the many testimonies you have all added there as well.  There sure are a lot more now than when I left this afternoon.  :-))

Also, just for the record, I didn't come up with this idea, in fact I'm not sure exactly who on our team did, but I do know this, I sure like it, and I can see what it will do for readers, visitors, members, and for our community.  ActiveRain really is so much more than just another  Social Network, or an On-line Real Estate Industry Media and Marketing platform.

It's more than just a network of friends here, we're more like a virtual family than anything else.  Those of you who have been here more than a year, or have 100,000 hard earned points or more know exactly what I mean and exactly what I am talking about.  Those of you who are brand new to AR, I can only say this...

There really is no other place or network on the entire WEB quite like even close to ActiveRain... and believe me, I have looked at hundreds.

Brad - How wonderful to hear that your brother found you. That must have been something else! I just saw the new feature the other day and was meaning to look into it further. Thanks for the explaination. I am relatively new around here and the other day I noticed a name in my home town of Sacramento - I think Bob Machado was our Sacremento Bee "paper boy" (I am sure that is an inappropriate description these days) for years when growing up. He was quite a bit older that I, closer to my brothers age. I have been meaning to contact him. You have inspired me to do so. Thanks Brad for all you AR's do.

9:08am • #55

Lisa - it looks like Robert and you share a profile on AR, this is what is showing up on the success story page:

Robert Hammerstein (Coldwell Banker): Real Estate Sales Person in Hillsdale, NJ Robert Hammerstein (Coldwell Banker) said about 14 hours ago,
"I have been a member with my wife Lisa since October 2006 and have never delved into the blogging platform except to help out my wife with the HammersTeam Blogsite. Since we have been involved with this site we have met so many incredibly talented people who are so nice and helpful. People that are willing to share knowledge and build this community to where it is now and continue it's progressive climb up. The Active Rain Community is so invigorating and helpful that I don't know what I would do without it now. This is the reason I have started up my own blog. I am so grateful to this site! Thanks Active Rain. Bob Hammerstein"

If you have a separate profile, just make sure you add your testimonial to your profile at the bottom of the page, and it will show up.  When I checked your profile at http://activerain.com/hammersteam, there was nothing posted in the "Success Story" area.  Adding your story there will work as well.  :-)

9:25am • #56

Brad - It is really a great idea to promote success stories on Active Rain. After reading through these stories, I think your story about finding your brother struck me the most as I recall your post about it, which has nothing to do about finding leads, selling houses, making money. Active Rain is really a great site for making friends, networking, sharing valuable information and lessons, as well as supporting each other when in need. Tell me where else is such a site?

Yes you are correct. The profile you mention above is mine and it worked out fine. Lisa was talking about the Hammersteam profile. She tried to post to it about 5 times and it wouldn't take yesterday. She'll give it another attempt tonight. Thanks for clarifying. I hope this makes sense to you. Bob H

Robert Bob - try again, it looked like it worked fine for me logged in as you, but let me know to be sure.  You're the first to report any issue with that area of the profile page.  Make sure it's 20 words or longer, no links or html, and then save using the update profile button.  It should still be in that area when you reload the page but it won't show publicly.  Here to help if you need.   :-)  BTW - responded to your email as well.

Brad, Good story to read that you and your brother re united.

I've written an activerain success story and have had many other success stories directly related from activerain. I will certainly make use of the new option feature.

I would like to suggest, with all the pull down menu's and chad buttons one could be added to the blog edit  that would allow for a blog to be catagorized into the "success stories" catagory.

I had a great referral from Jon Zolsky.  We are both real estate sales associates in Florida.  Jon asked me to help him in procuring a property here in south east Florida for one of his customers (Jon is in north Florida).  I was able to find a property that our customer loved and we completed the sale last spring.  It was a fun experience working with Jon, and it was also wonderful that he called me and asked for my assistance...This is what AR is all about...Referrals, trust, knowledge, and success stories.  Thanks Brad for the opportunity to share one.
