Tips to keeping A POSITIVE Mindset

Remember that day you met your first fling...

the day you started in Real Estate?

The Day you got that new car?

Life is like new carpet. At first shoes are not allowed because you are excited about the smell and you dont see any flaws in the carpet. Then "SPLASH" red wine. or a listing contract pulled. It starts to blemish your view of the real landscape that you are in.

I am seeing a lot of peers end up focusing on nthe wine spot and forget about how that carpet looked when it was new. They are passing on even trying to clean the spot. Rather, they just sit there and look at the spot and think about how that wine has ruined the carpet.

I say take a picture of that carpet before the stain fell and everytime you see the stain...grab the picture and remember what it looked like when it was new and fresh.

Every relationship is the same way. When we get connected to another person we see the excitement and the care the other person is throwing our way. Then SPLASH goes the wine. Slowly the view becomes wine splattered unless we proactively remember and remind ourselves about how that relationship felt when it was fresh and new.

A house built on a good foundation still needs to be maintained and have improvements.

So to do our realtionships and our work need maintenance and work to improve and grow.

God Bless !

Joseph,

I guess its all in the eye of the beholder.  I choose to use the word 'patina' when I see the wine sploshes and such appear on my relationships.  I consider them broken in, not broken down:)
