Some folks have a lawyer or accountant on retainer...that they can call or email today for advice on something they are considering doing. They need a resource quickly for guidance or assurance they are on the right track.
In ActiveRain, there are a slew of resources or "go to's" with 133,478 other associates. I am a peddler of property. Maine property. Not just homes, but land, farms, waterfront, business listings. So over the years, connections formed on ActiveRain come about slowly by reading others blogs on pertinent subjects of real estate. When you go to a REALTOR convention on the state or national level, I always came away with so much food for thought when comparing notes over a meal with other brokers and bankers at the table. Talking shop with the "troops in the trenches" while socializing and getting even more education from the seminars helps make you more professional, more versed on new methods to peddle property. Daily re-inventing the trade I've been in. Seeing changes, advancements over the last three decades on how selling real estate is done. As a member of ActiveRain, if you stop and think about it, you gravitate to this blog headline or that because of the pertinent subject and timing of it. Or you like what you read from this blogger so you know like a good restaurant where you always have a good meal to check in and read over some "food for thought" from this fellow professional. As I thought about this blog I remember the first bloggers I commented on and who did the same with me. And if you go back to those early blogs (have over 700 now) you can see how thru out the weeks of contributing and reading other posts that this site helped bring us all together and started relationships. I have bloggers I can bounce off marketing ideas or compare notes with on how they handle this or that situation in the
Atlanta Georgia real estate market with Jim Crawford or my friend making New England real estate videos Fred Light with a technical question. Or its always fun to see green water, palm trees and thinking about Maui Hawaii real estate with fellow blogger Georgina Hunterwho has family connections to Hartland New Brunswick just across the Maine border in New Brunswick Canada where my boys plays many many hockey games thru out the years. And one other connection that slowly evolves from comments on her blog or she on mine serves the Washington DC real estate market, Patricia Kennedy. My son goes to school in DC at George Washington so I feel like she is in his area. I follow her blog a little more thinking about son Alex in the area she serves. So ActiveRain is like a family...we may not all send each other Christmas cards or hob nob at a
local event but with on line connections, we are all a resource to learn new ways to list, market, sell real estate. Networking..all thru blogs. The old saying that "no man is an island" nor does he want to be to stay active in business still applies in life!
