There is a neat little place in West Chester, that I bet you haven't heard about.  I shouldn't bet on that, actually, because this little place is always so crowded for lunch that it would behoove you to call ahead and get a reservation.  I had lunch at Arianna's Gourmet Cafe a few weeks ago with my friend Julie and I had their Gourmet Chicken Salad.  I actually had the soup and 1/2 sandwich lunch special and while the soup was delicious, I would have loved another half of a sandwich that was absolutely sublime.  When I tell you that I have dreamed of this meal since then, I would not be exaggerating.

Arianna's

Having the opportunity to meet Jeanie Purcell, the Director of Meals on Wheels of Chester County for lunch, I quickly suggested Arianna's so I could once again delight my taste buds with the best chicken salad this side of the Mississippi, or anywhere, for that matter

Jeanie Purcell was salivating over the delectable desserts that were on display.  Fortunately, we were out of time, so we couldn't indulge, but they did look wonderful.

If you are looking for a neat and cozy place to have a cup of hot soup, sandwich or gourmet salad, call Arianna's at 610-696-2910.  You won't be sorry!

Oh no!  I just perused their website and realize they are open for breakfast!

How far is this from the ice rink? where the lady quakers play ice hockey at 700 Lawrence Drive West Chester PA. My daughter plays ice hockey and we come up to West Chester periodically.

Hi Susan-I love chicken salad. That sounds like it would be excellent. I'm headed to NY in May so who knows maybe we could do lunch. That would be great.  I hope you are having a wonderful Fri. Have a super weekend and I'll see ya next time. :-)

Hi Susan- Don't you just love it when you find that perfect little place you want to return to again and again.  There's something about soup and sandwich as the best kind of comfort food.  I wish we had more quaint places to eat in Titusville...we are lacking in that department.  Have a great weekend and have a sandwich for me :-)

Lisa, This is literally minutes from Ice Line!  You would take 5 points down right on Paoli Pike, turn right.  Paoli Pike goes straight into West Chester, turning into Gay Street.  Arianna's is a few blocks into town.  There's a really nice old fashioned hardware store in the same shopping center and a Rita's water ice.

Deb, I know it has walnuts and grapes.  Yummy.

Sharon, the only day they are closed, I think, is Monday, so yes!  I'd love to do lunch.

Hi Gail... I'll think of you next time I eat there!

Susan, as you describe it, this sounds like a wonderful place for a meal. I just love restaurants that carve out a niche and are not just always part of the big chains. You'll have to overindulge with the dessert one of these days. We are all allowed a cheat meal once in awhile. Bon Appetit!!

It sounds like a lot of fun!  There is a place a friend of mine and I like to go called Lavender House.  It sounds very similar.  It is truly a 'girlie' place.

Susan,

OK, every once in a while it's allright if you don't eat Italian. Sounds great and they must be doing well if you need reservations for lunch.

Susan - Sounds delicious - Since you are a great cook that means this place is really good.  I just love places that are not part of the big chains.

Gary, sadly, I cheat all of the time, but mostly with food and junk like candy and soda!

Hannah, you won't be sorry!

Mel, it is a girlie place.  I met a guy friend there once and he stuck out like a sore thumb... he's loud, gregarious and he shaves his bead bald.  We had a blast!

Richard, I only cheat on the Italians once in a blue, blue moon!

Sharon, my cooking skills have been exaggerated a bit by people who just likes to eat!  But thanks!

Paddy, thanks, my friend.

Rob... my world has come to me longing for chicken salad.  Sad, but true.  Hey, we have to find our bliss wherever we can!

Russell, I love running into you over at facebook and here on Active Rain.  I think I may be following you on Twitter, but I don't know what the heck I'm doing when I'm over there!  Hi and thanks to everyone.

Son JL, if you ever come to visit your adopted mom, we can go here for lunch!
