Frequently we see things that confirm that whoever made a repair may not have known everything they could about whatever they were working on.

I'm sure that the plumber that worked on the house I inspected this morning thought he knew everything there was about plumbing. Everything that is except the basic concept.

That's one way to make sure you don't have any extra parts left over.

So Jack what is the idea here----to torture the water SO much that it finally gives up and goes down the drain?

That's 4 (count them 4) traps in about two feet. I'm sure that's a worlds record. Thanks for the chuckle Jack it had been a boring day.

Oh, ok, that's what we need to do to fix that leaky faucet in the kitchen!  Thanks for the pics!  It really brought it all home for me!

Looks like a tinker toy set that a grown up wanted to play with.  Hope the plumber reimburses homeowners for extra parts!

Jack - That is quite interesting pipe work there. At least it looks like it is not leaking.

This "plumber" must have loved the old Hot Wheels race tracks when he was a kid.

BTW, this is why I hate plumbing - nothing ever fits correctly and I lack this guys creativity.  Plus my wife would laugh me out of the house if I tried something like that!

I'm pretty sure that was installed by Willy Wonka.

Jack, that is simply brilliant. This plumber is a genius. You really have to like his creativity. Thanks for sharing.

I could use that photo for a NOT how to DIY example.  Sad thing is that there is a chance that a "professional?" could have done that too.   Great photo.

Maybe the guy thought he was turning an S-trap into a P-trap.  With all those traps, at least one of them should maintain a water seal.  Can't have sewer gas entering the house.
