Early Saturday Morning........................

It's really early on Saturday morning here in Cedar City, I have been going over in my mind what I shold write in my blog today.  I couldn't help but get caught up in a little of the negative thinking that is permeating the world right now.  I noticed yesterday as I drove down Main Street that at least two of our independent small car lots appear to have gone out of business.  That saddens me, it hurts anytime that a community loses a business.

I know that things are tough and that many people and businesses are failing economically.  But does that make people a failure?  I think not!  We only fail when we fail to try.  It may not be the easy solution that we're hoping for, but we at least have to try.  I know that we have all heard the story of this person failed twice at business, both time resulting in bankruptcy, suffered a nervous breakdown, also suffered the death of his fiance, and he lost 7 different time while running for office.

I am sure that most of us are glad that Abraham Lincoln didn't give up. He is widely respected for his handling of the US Civil War, (at least in the Northern States ;)), but the example of not giving up.  Who knows what would have happened to this Grand Union if he hadn't stuck his neck out for one more run at office, we may be at least two different countries right now.

I guess that what I am trying to say in this blog is that now isn't the time to lose hope.  If anything know is the most important time to develope a sense of optimism and hope.  We have enough people moping around in despair and fear, we need a few more that believe that the end isn't near.

Charles Kettering wrote: The only time that you can't afford to fail is the last time you try."  I am sure that everyone one of us has been or will get knocked down, the key is getting back up.  We only fail when we don't get back up after being knocked down.  History is filled with success stories of people like Abraham Lincoln, who failed their way into incredible success.  Make it a great week next week, and have a great week end!
