Recently I wrote a post about attending court on behalf of a seller...I didn't think I did anything extraordinary..I just treated the seller the way that I would like to be treated.  If it didn't work...we had nothing to lose...but if it did...we had so much to gain!

It's those uncertain situations that people need to know how much we care and that we are in the here and now assisting...achieving and working towards their goals..and by having an open mind and trying something a bit different..would almost be called visionary...wishful thinking.. and just a dream!

It's a good thing I ignored the thoughts and voices that prevent us from opportunities....In the back of my mind.... the judge won't listen to you...the judge doesn't have to talk to you.. but the flexible side of me took over...in my heart of hearts I had to give it a shot...I'm glad I listened to my gumby voices..

We got an extra 30 days!

I went on a listing appointment once with a seasoned agent..as I listened to their presentation its was as if..the agent gave the seller a would not do list or presentation.  The agent clearly spelled out what they would not do to get the property sold.

Mechanical in their approach and their ideas..because they did what they have always done...have always been told..and they felt comfortable.

Comfortable yes we came back with no listing!

When they asked what I thought..I made a few suggestions..."Instead of zeroing in on what you won't do...use the what you won't do as negotiating tools and shout the value of all the things you do.  The won't dos won't be so important once you explain what you do and why!  Midori you don't know what you are talking about...I think I have a great presentation!"

Visionaries...they can see the future!  Why because they are open to different ways a little trial and error..guesswork..but they believe there is a way..they see it and its within their grasp and any step forward or backward may be the next step for the greater good of man!

Visionaries look at different potential outcomes and without placing personal judgment but purely with the question what do we have to lose or gain? It could work.. and if it does it could be life altering....its possible....so they try it they bend!

In Daytona Beach there are over 1200 members in our area board and in January only 214 residential properties sold..someone is going hungry especially if not available to a buyer when necessary for the buyer.

"Those darn buyers...if you don't answer they will just call the next agent."  Do you blame them?  They are calling you for a service..and there is a great chance they may hire you..and the same complaints that agents have calling other agents back..buyers and sellers may experience the same thing with you!

One of our agents shows property at the drop of the hat..she is armed with all the tools necessary to track her schedule wherever she is...while some would never work that way or work too late..this hot shot is smart enough to know she's not the only gig in town and sales are fewer and sometimes to her feels sales are far between. She looks at her numbers...and accepts the fact she has to work differently and maybe a little harder and very uniquely...differently from years past..and also very different from most of her peers!

When a buyer calls..she looks at her schedule and will find a way...to meet their needs.

She prioritizes..that means if a buyer must see a house at seven o'clock that night because they work overnight..well there is a good chance her hubby is tagging along...

She is the top producer of our company for 2008!

Even though she would never put someone else through looking at houses at seven or inconvenience someone in any way...she knows..many will because people are so different and come from all walks of life.

She does what the most successful does...she improvises...she bends!

There are no set ways to practice real estate as long as we stay within the scope of the law..and The Code of Ethics! Our profession is practiced in a wide variety of ways..with different styles...and different models with different personalities...in our industry there is still wide open territory to be discovered.

The terms "I won't, I'll never, I can't" are so often shared with the public...sometimes we have to eat our words..

Because there is nothing else to try....Visionaries

Really don't have that problem...they have plenty of ideas..they will continue to find a means and a way..most view them as dreamers but many visionaries often times are the most successful people today!

"It can't be done..it's not possible..it's unheard of!"...imagine if NASA or scientists thought this way.

What if the brilliant minds behind  Activerain never pulled a gumby...our network would be the same as it was 2 years ago...

I can tell you comparing from 2 years ago...back then it was awesome but today it would be viewed as outdated!   Just anther social networking platform.

In our neck of the woods..Real estate is a tough gig right now for...  Brokers, Agents and buyers and sellers. Everyone is impacted in a wide variety of ways!

Are you finding you are doing things you never imagined? If not...you might want to explore uncharted territory or better yet pull a gumby there is a good chance you have so much to gain!

Gumby is a good symbol Midori of how we all need to be. Flexible, innovative, go ahead and try something. Be a risk taker. They are the folks, the visionaries that make things happen. I loved this entire post of yours.

It's amazing how many realtors aren't flexible, and don't want to change. No way will they step out of the box... look outside of their confiness.... learn new technology.... Not too many of them will be left standing.

Happy Sunday Midori~ Being flexible is a great trait to have...I mean really, how many times have we had to take a detour when a road was closed, or wear different shoes when the dog ate the one that went "perfect" with our outfit? Flexibility is one of the greatest skills an agent can learn.

This is the truth to a "T"  If you can't bend, you will break apart.
