You know, one of the things you really don't think about or learn about when you come to a new town are the television and entertainment stations in your new city.

Well, the offerings are pretty cool, especially if you are one of the lucky ones who have bought a ridiculously large flatscreen HDTV and are hooked up to a digital cable or satelite service.

Charlotte has a bunch of television stations, and, impressively, most of them offer a chanel in high definition. That means that you might even have some local programming in high definition.

There are two public television stations that have High definition signals, UNCTV, an affiliate of the UNC Chapel Hill's public television station, and WTVI, the Charlotte Area public television station.  The programming is a little different between the two.

Back in the day, if you had a bunny ear antenna, you could get some South Carolina public television from the Rock Hill station, I believe. But I don't think that will be possible after the Digital conversion.

CBS, ABC, NBC, CW, and a couple of other independent stations also broadcast signals in High definition. Some even have auxilliary chanels just in case something gets preempted or something, I guess.
