DO LEADS REALLY EXIST ON THIS??

By
Real Estate Agent with Cottage and Loft Realty

I was just wondering if anybody out there could answer a few of these questions for me?

First of all , has anyone actually gotten a lead from blogging on active rain?

Second, do we really know what the whole deal is with these points?

I will credit active rain on this, there certainly is a chock full of useful information on here and I must say that I really enjoy reading  about the experiences of some of the newer agents are. I also appreciate the advice and helpful hints all of you dedicated bloggers provide.

I being not only a newly licensed real estate agent, but also a newbie to active rain, would be more than happy for anyone to tell me about what they went through ( the good , the bad, and the ugly ) when they first started out as an agent.

I find I can learn a lot  just by other peoples real life experiences.

Hey Edith - Got a lead last week from someone who found me on Active Rain through a Google search.  The good thing is that I've not been an AR member for very long - maybe 3-4 weeks?  It wasn't directly from an AR member though, if that's what you were inquiring.

Yes, Edith!  My first Active Rain lead got me this listing: http://activerain.com/blogsview/89406/163-1-Ledgemont-285. (If you haven't discovered the Listings by Address group, check it out!  http://activerain.com/groups/HomesForSale )  The second lead was a phone call from a prospective renter.  Although I don't think that the points matter, the higher you are ranked in your local area, the more leads you'll probably get.  I don't think I got the leads because of the number of points, though.  My blog is about the town I live in and I think that's what got the attention of the clients who contacted me.

 Welcome to AR!

What points? Just kidding... I did go on a listing appointment last week from an active rain referral. I don't know if I will get the listing but it is an opportunity. An opportunity I would not have had without the "rain."

Glad that you asked this because I am a newbie to AR myself just like you, and didn't have any idea at all that leads actually could be generated from blogging here.  I am really learning a lot from the many AR members.  It's an enlightening experience having to hear views from the veterans and rookies alike.

I've received 15 leads from this site in 7 days. Read Karen George's stuff on SEO and use it. You get as much as you put in it. This site is simply invaluable to me and my business.

Yes I have had leads from the site.  I was amazed by it, but it happens.  I also have some good friendships because of this site.  Some lead to leads, and other lead to a future that is better off.

Hey ! ok stupid question....ready? the ranking  numbers...is it better to have the lowest number in rank or highest ? Like say, featured agent is ranked #1, is that a good thing?

Edith,

Being ranked #1 just means you have the most points... it is a good thing, for exposure, when someone pulls up your area.  For example, when you go to Southaven, MS Doug Capps (my hubby) is #1 and featured agent.  He is dedicated to blogging on this site and inviting new members to network with.  It is more of a personal accomplishment for him, but he is very motivated to get info out to those who want it to help associates to our industry.  Good luck and keep reading- there are good things that come through this site:)
