Recycling model in Halifax, Nova Scotia

There has been a lot of discussion lately about going green and ideas to impliment, for obvious reasons.  I'm not sure what other places are doing, but I must say that I am pretty proud of the city I live in, although it was difficult to adjust at first, it is law here to partake in a 3 part recycle process:

1.       Recycle: Sort papers and money back bottles from plastics, milk cartons, etc Papers and recyle bags get put to the curb, you have to take your bottles to a recycle depot to get your money back.  BTW, there is a 10cent deposit on all recylce containers and you receive 5cents for every return.

2.       Compost: Every house in the city has a large and small compost bin, required to remain with the house when sold.  Compost bins are emptied every second week other than weekly in the summer (stinky and discusting in the heat, yuck!)

3.       Limited Garbage: Currently the limit on garbage is 10 bags but is being lowered to 6 soon.

If there are any inventors out there, please create an attractive sorting station that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  Email when you're done. Thanks in advance.
