My First Entry from a Marietta Real Estate Agent

I just recently joined the Active Rain community and have been impressed with the number of relevant posts in the Groups section.  Already, I have used many of the ideas to further my marketing effort for my real estate website: BuyHawkeye.com.  Website development has not come naturally to me and I have spent a tremendous amount of time educating myself on the latest and greatest search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.  From all of this studying, I see that my knowledge has grown far beyond what I imagined.  Interestingly enough, I think it has also complicated my efforts in some ways.

At the moment, my primary objective is to increase my rankings in the search engines.  It is a slow process, full of frustrations.  Active Rain looks like a great place to acquire some real estate specific knowledge and apply it to my efforts as well.

Hey David.  Looks your web site is well on the way.  You are indexed and ranked.  It should just get better.

Thanks Lenn.  I have been working on SEO for about four months, splitting time between my real estate and mortgage websites.  It didn't take long to figure out that I could do more with my real estate website since I own it outright.  Therefore that has been my primary focus.  My current challenge is linking.  I have some pretty cool software that allows me to compare myself to the competition.  I stack up very well in all the key elements less one; link exchange.  The top spot has nearly 200 more inbound links than I do.  I will have to acheive some sort of parity to climb the ranks.

Thanks for the input.  I have joined a few groups and have posted some remarks.  The groups have been a good source of ideas for the real estate website.

This is s good place to get links. Write relevant posts with keyword rich content and every now and then make some of those keywords links.
