Discipline is one of the most admired traits one can have. Look at the people you most admire and see if you admire them because they are disciplined, chances are that it is or at least one of the traits you admire. I have often wondered why I admire this so much in others and then it hit me. It is because they can get things done, no procrastination, no blaming others and even under adversity they get the job done.
You see discipline is a choice and has nothing to do with my mood or emotions. I choose to be disciplined in everything I do. When disciplined I feel better about the work I do, the actions I take and over all about myself.
Practice discpline by making the calls, planning your day, making the meetings or whatever it is that you feel needs to be done. One of the things that I do is phone canvas for three hours four days a week without fail. I not only like doing it but it makes up about 40% of my business. I have set hours to do this but if I skip for any reason I don't leave the office till it is done.
One day a week is devoted to calling my current clients and giving feedback and by being discplined I get this done without fail as well. One of the secrets is to reward yourself as well. No matter how big or small an accomplishment celebrate by treating yourself.
