The past week has been pretty overwhelming in light of a significant family loss and yet I sit here writing this
truly inspired.

With all that clutters our lives from the day to day grind it is so important that we set aside time each day to
appreciate and enjoy the people around us. I've recently been asked why I don't spend more time writing about mortgage products since that is what I am so good at. My only response is that of my own personal motto "
People simply don't care about what you know, until they know you truly care". This is true for the family member we recently lost.
Grandma was more than just a woman of faith, a woman of compassion or a woman of love. She was
someone people loved as though she was their grandma. She faithfully attended a local church in phoenix every single week no matter what was going on in her life. A few days after a major heart surgery she insisted she go to church. Every time she set foot in my house she would come and find me and demand I "
put an arm around her neck". She wasn't even my side of the family and yet I felt like she was my own grandmother. Every single place she went she told everyone about her faith whether you liked it or not. You see this isn't about just another religious little old lady. She had endured years of
suffering, pain, family turmoil and poor finances. Yet when I looked at this woman all I saw was a truly joyful and loving human being who
NEVER complained. She always put others first and never worried about her own welfare. In a society ridden with immorality and fool heartedness she was a
beacon of light.
What she taught me was that leaving a legacy to my family and friends is by far the measure of a
good life lived. What I realize more than ever is that my title, position and even money are
worthless without a love to back them all. I want to be able to look back and know that above all else my family and friends knew that they were loved beyond measure. Take a moment to think about the legacy you are living and stop to show the ones around you that they are
loved.
Jacob, I'm sorry for your loss. Your grandmother sounds like a lovely and wonderful woman who knew what real living was about. Nevertheless she'd be happy with the lessons you gained from her life. God bless.
