Interesting.  Sounds like my one silly little credit card might not be doing me much good after all.

Wow...seems so easy!  Does that work with upper level scores?  For example can a 790 bump up to 815 just by opening another credit card accounts...

I had no idea that you got 25 points for just opening up a new credit card!  It's good and kinda scary at the same time.  Thanks for the info!

It mainly works for those under the average score but it will still help some maybe not the same though Dan.  It would be nice though.  If you have a score like that I don't think you will have many problems getting what you want.

Great info. I should tell my husband this when he gets upset with me (that's when I get a store credit card).

Just remember that you need to keep that card under 50% full 35% is the best in order to get the most points out off it.  I would recomend using it for gas once a month and then pay it off each month.

I guess it is time for another credit card!  I find it interesting the things that make the points in a credit score.  Is there a website or other source that has a breakdown of the point system?  Great post.
