We plan our day the night before, carefully deciding what we will wear, making conscious effort not to select an outfit similar to what we donned the previous time we attended a certain event. Mentally, we have rehearsed what we'll say. The necessary materials are all arranged that we will take with us; perhaps a listing presentation, the bank statement, copy of minutes from the last meeting, CMA report, etc. (depending upon the mission).
The day arrives! We are in anticipation of carrying out our appointment, and we have begun with prayer, thanking God first, asking Him for a successful presentation, or closing, or showing. We have visualized in our mind the turn-out, and did seal the prayer by requesting good weather.
As soon as we get off our knees, that's when it happens....
- The phone rings ..... Tenant problem, a family issue, an agent crisis...
- Oh No! It was NOT supposed to snow... not today!!!
- The "check engine light" comes on in the car....
- This dress used to fit .... It did last month!!!
- Look at this traffic... WHY did someone choose TODAY to have an accident??
Could these happenings be sent to deter us? Our spirit is always speaking, directing, warning, urging, wooing. It's the job of the Spirit of God. It's that inner voice that alerts us.... "Get up", "don't go there", "turn here", "hush - do not say anything yet, -- wait!" Our God desires to order our steps, for we have asked that His will be done, correct? He wants to CHANGE our agendas for our own good.... But are we listening? Will we ignore the urging of the Holy Ghost just to carry out our intents over His directives? Are we imitating the stiff-necked, wandering, "never possessing the land" people of God?
At a time such as this... we cannot afford to quell the whispering instructions sent by our Creator! Let us learn to TUNE in, HEAR by LISTENING, and OBEY! We will bring undue harm, misery, and sorrow if we don't! Remember.... We are NOT of this world... our antennas must be directed UP!
Beloved of God... if the timing of this writing speaks to your heart..... quickly humble yourself, ask for forgiveness and receive reinstatement, for it is God who is working in you to do and will of His good pleasure. Accept His grace with cheerfulness, knowing that He has once again in His faithfulness snatched you out of the snare of the enemy!
For the sons and daughters of God are led by the Spirit of God
Be careful for nothing but in every thing by prayer and supplication, let your requests be made known unto God
The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God
