That right. As of June, 2007, ActiveRain will be one year old. I wanted to do one huge birthday party, but I dont know how everyone is going to fit into our house, so that wasn't going to work. The other option was to ask a few members to help us throw a a few parties in different cities across the States. These are just a few that we could plan. If you can't make one of these, please throw your own! We would love to see photos and short videos of everyone celebrating the birthday of a good thing.

June 2,   Seattle, Washington

June 9,   Los Angeles, California

June 16, Chicago, Illinois

June 23, Orlando, Florida

June 30, New York, New York

You should be seeing guest appearances from the AR guys. We are hoping these to be regional events and hope to meet as many of you as we can. You will find the links to these individual five blog posts on the main page shortly. I will be hosting the Seattle Gathering and will be letting the other four parties be announced by their hosts. I hope that you are excited as we are about it.

I hope to see as many members as possible at these gatherings.  Lydia has been working hard with a few very helpful members to get locations set, and all the details on each one will be available very shortly.  This presents a great opportunity to meet lots of your fellow Rainers in person both to network and have some fun.

Hey guys don't leave out Kansas City :-D.  P.S Happy Birthday!  Thats awesome...  Almost a year and only a week or two away from 30k members!!! Members: 28,927 at my viewing...

I'm going to talk to some people in my company about getting one hosted at our education center in KC.  If not I'll find a local bar that I'm sure would be more than thrilled to help out.  Any K.C or M.O peps interested in helping toss me an e-mail.

I'll get back to you on the date.

We've been trying to determine a date for Michigan, so I will see if we can fit it in during the times you mentioned. WE are 5 hours from Chicago, so maybe one of you could hop on the train or fly over here. Only about 30 minutes by air.

Maybe someday we can connect the gathering by satellite. Yes, we will someday.

Lydia, Sounds like it would be an interesting way to get to know many of our fellow bloggers in our local area. Many are a bit of a drive - maybe we could organize a meeting in the local Baltimore-Washington area?

Lydia,

I am anxious to hear about Chicago's event.  I am only 3 hours drive away.  Where will the host be announcing this so I can look for it?

Thanks,

Lucky :)

...And I am happy to be heading up Orlando :)

The help I need is in the form of RSVP's. I will be putting up a post and asking the members to let me know if they will be joining us here in Florida.

When the post is up for the NY gathering, please link it here so those in the Northeast can see it.

All these birthday parties should be alot of fun, if they're anything like the Orlando/Celebration gathering we had a few weeks ago.

Christine:  I believe we already have someone(s) working on the NY one with Lydia but I'm sure they would love more help.

We tried to hit major cities in each corner of the country as well as one more center so that as many members as possible will have a chance to make it out to one of the major ones.

I would be happy to help with the New York gathering as well! I am in the NYC and Long Island area, as well as the "upstate" Hudson Valley area too, so I can be flexible... I know there are quite a few Rainers all throughout these three areas so we should be able to put together a pretty big group!
