NewspaperI recently read an article in The Times Record about a local fisherman.  The young man talked about his love for the sea and how much he enjoyed his job. In his own words... "If I was rich, I'd do this for free!"

You can read the whole story here.

That got me thinking about how wonderful it is to love what you do for a living. Considering the average American spends a minimum of 40 hours a week at work....and for Real Estate Agents that figure can be considerably higher... loving your job is important!

Luckily for me, I do love my job!  I love selling Real Estate!  I love the excitement of a young couple buying their first home. I love helping the retired couple sell their home so they can move closer to their grandkids. I love the look on the kids' faces as they pick out their new room! And I love the feeling of satisfaction when all parties leave the closing table with smiles on their faces!

So thank you, Timothy, for reminding me how important it is to love what you do.

And to quote a very wise man...."If I was rich, I'd do this for free!"

Let us ask ourselves how many times we have done this for free with all the short sales and REO properties that didn't work out for buyers or sellers.

Todd - Oh..you are so right! There are many times we work for free!   Luckily the good outweighs the bad.  So far.....

Thanks for your comment!
