Are you ready for a Challenge

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner

2008 was far from my best financial year, but I am committed to making 2009 the most profitable year of my life so far.

I understand that having money is NOT everything, BUT not having it IS!

I would like to share with my AR Friends the challenge I have accepted for myself.  I hope that sharing my challenge with you I will do two things:

  1. Help me stay accountable to myself and all of you
  2. Inspire you to step up your game in 2009

MY CHALLENGE.....

  • I am focused on aligning myself with only successful people
  • I will not spend time with tasks that distract me from my primary objective "growing my company"
  • I will grow my company to a team of 50 like-minded Realtors
  • I joined the 100 Day Challenge to keep me on track
  • I will volunteer more of my time this year to my community
  • I will build 10 mini-income streams "online websites/blogs" to create passive income
  • I will spend at least 4 weeks with my family in Indiana & Florida this week

Have a great week.

Let's make 2009 the Best Year Ever!!!!

It sounds like you are getting a great start to 2009, being motivated and enthusiastic to grow your business.  I have never heard of mini-income streams...or maybe I'm just not familiar with them how you are describing them.

I am working to make 2009 better professionally than 2008, but I do not have enough specific goals laid out at this point.  Thanks for sharing!

How do you make passive income on websites and blogs?? I like the idea of being accountable to each other.

Drew-

It's great that you are DESIGNING 2008, rather than just living the year by default! If you need any support during this year, let me know! It's all about the power of choice!

Passion Rules!

Jenn - mini income streams are sources of small income amounts.  Example:  If you take all of your monthly expenses (mortgage/rent, car, insurance, etc...) and divide by 30 days you will have a Daily Expense.  Rather than thinking of finding 1 source of income (job, business, etc...) that covers all your expenses, you should focus on setting up mini-income streams.  I am currently using FREE Blogs to generate small income amounts.

Cindy - there are dozens, maybe even hundreds of ways to generate income on blogs.  Advertising, Google Adsense, Affiliate marketing, etc....

Tom, thank you.

Drew - Congratulations on creating your goals and structure for 2009!  Your bullet points seem very reasonable if you stay focused and move forward each day.  All the best to you and your business.

Great list. I need to work on this one..."I will not spend time with tasks that distract me from my primary objective "growing my company"  I'm challenged by people saying 2009 is only going to get worse and things won't get better until the end of 2010. There couldn't be a better motivator than to not participate in that belief for me.

thank you Ken, Lee & Carol and Gina.... I appreciate your comments.  I do my best to avoid those that spread doom-n-gloom.  There is always something to be grateful for.  When people tell me how bad the market or economy is; I look at the MLS and focus on all the transactions that closed in the past 2-3 weeks.  They are always there....

I love hearing motivated people! Thanks for the article. Another great step for 2009 is to find your "niche". A great untapped market is energy efficiency, but you need to get on the boat before it explodes. Be the one everyone goes to get an energy efficient house. Offer a home energy audit for all of your listings so buyers know they will be saving money every time they get a bill from SDG&E!
