How do you know what's right for you and your family, Stay or Sell and Buy?!?
I'll make is easier on you, answers these simple questions below, you should be able to make an informed decision:
Question 1: Can you expand? Can you build on to your home, buy the condo beside yours, take out a wall, add a room into the garage of a townhome? Could you get a permit for the type of work you'll need to be doing?
Question 2: Are the current rooms the right size for your family needs? Can you change out furniture to give more space? Declutter, add shelving for storage?
Question 3: Does your family have strong ties to the neighbourhood? Work, School, Recreational Facalities, daycare, transit? Family or Friends that live in the neighbourhood?
Question 4: Movings Costs and Stress? What would your moving costs be? Truck rental, moving company or storage costs? How does it affect all your family members? Pets?
Question 5: Current Real Estate Market? Is there homes for sale with the right neighbourhood with the right features/wants at a price you can afford? What are the current interest rates? Will taxes go up or down where you want to move?
As all families and situations are different, take a step back and look at your situation, you may have more answers that you think!
