Beautiful Sun reflecting on the water! (No trick photography here)!

This photograph is quite deceiving because it looks like it's cold and there might be snow around the edges of the picture.

There is no snow and when this photo was taken it was not cold. The sun was going down at the time and I would consider this a sunset, but some may not because the sun is not on the horizon.

This photograph was taken in Mandalay Myanmar (Burma) May 2008. Temperature was around 105 degrees and the humidity was around 100 percent.

That is why the sun looks orange because it is setting and the humidity is so high. When your in these temperatures when you think hard or walk fast you break into a sweat, it is quite uncomfortable.

Robert, that is a gorgeous photo, vivid color. If it was 105 degrees that late in the day, what is the temp at mid-day?

Robert,

Interesting color - especially the way everything but the sun is a grayish color. :)

Steve- The humidity was so thick it created this black, gray & white affect.

It looks like the moon to me, are you sure it's the sun?  I'm familiar with the humidity there having spent 35 years in the area.

Richard - Believe me if this was the moon, I would not say it was the sun. I have hundreds of photographs like this from South East Asia.

Vegas Bob strikes again with an incredible photo.  I did imagine a cool, crisp feeling when first viewing it, then reading the description, the feeling of humid air thick with mist that one can almost grab a fistful of replaced it.  The view is mesmerizing, almost hypnotic.

Was it as serene as it seems, or was the scene alive with the sounds of the night just starting to wake up?
